This position is a CO-St. Paul position but offers various permanent work locations to include: St. Paul-CO; D1-Duluth; D2-Bemidji, Crookston, Thief River Falls; D3-Baxter & St. Cloud; Metro-Waters Edge; D6-Rochester only; D7-Mankato & Windom; D8-Wilmar or Marshall.
Minimal travel to district sites when needed. This position will have the flexibility to telecommute, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to complete a telework agreement. The incumbent will be expected to work in the permanent office once a month for team building and on occasion, as needed.
You will provide leadership, supervision, and stewardship for the department‘s Statewide Enterprise use of 3D/4D Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) software, Document Management System (DMS) for CADD and Plan Set Review (Bluebeam) technology distribution and access. In addition, the position will provide leadership and oversight of the department’s advancement in Digital Delivery and Building Information Modeling (BIM) for Infrastructure.
You will be responsible for design technology advancement and implementation to support agency e-Construction initiatives, administration and management of thesystem, support, training, and collaboration with MN.IT to ensure systems and technology assets are adequately supported; supervise and provide leadership for large scale, enterprise business initiatives effectively and efficiently by recommending policies, establishing, maintaining, and publishing CADD graphic and metadata standards, providing high level support, training content development, and training delivery to the engineering and technical communities, so the systems can be used effectively in program delivery efforts; and, coordinate major vendor initiatives to improve agency efficiency and effectiveness in the use of CADD, DMS for program delivery.
You Will Also
• Provide technical para-engineering support to staff in using new processes and technologies.
• Lead various special projects related to these technologies.
• Train engineering staff on new technologies to ensure systems are optimized.
• Coordinate with agency license CADD software vendors to address agency needs, resolve agency issues and seek assistance or guidance on use of the software to advance agency goals or initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of professional supervisory experience in the areas noted below; OR, four years of advanced professional experience in the areas noted below; OR, four years of advanced para-engineering (e.g., Engineer Specialist or higher) in the areas noted below;
• Experience with CADD and DMS standards;
• Knowledge of BIM technologies and standards such as ISO 19650, IFC and how it can be used to manage and enrich information throughout a project lifecycle;
• Experience reviewing roadway designs, surveys, photogrammetric and construction plans;
• Experience leading staff, project members on projects and/or direct lead work experience;
• Technical project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge and understanding of construction specifications and special provisions.
