Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Food Safety and Quality Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's food safety and quality assurance programs. This role requires a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality throughout the entire production process.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Food Safety Programs:
• Design, implement, and maintain food safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
Quality Assurance Management:
• Oversee the development and maintenance of quality assurance programs, ensuring products meet or exceed industry and company standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce quality control measures at all stages of production.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay abreast of changes in food safety regulations and standards, ensuring the company's practices remain in compliance.
• Interact with regulatory agencies, conduct inspections, and manage responses to regulatory inquiries.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality and safety of incoming raw materials.
• Implement supplier quality assurance programs and conduct supplier audits as needed.
Training and Education:
• Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on food safety and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting awareness and understanding of food safety practices.
Incident Management:
• Develop and implement procedures for managing and investigating food safety incidents, including product recalls.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to address and resolve incidents in a timely and effective manner.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Utilize data analytics to monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to food safety and quality.
• Generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting trends, areas for improvement, and compliance status.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 experience in food safety and quality management.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant food safety regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
