Transportation EIT
Wilson & Company is seeking a Transportation/Roadway Engineer in Training (EIT) with hands on design and modeling experience to join our team in Salina, KS. This position will perform roadway design and modeling utilizing Microstation & OpenRoads Designer (ORD). They will work in conjunction with Project Managers, peer engineers and CADD team members to coordinate the roadway design with other project disciplines to meet deadlines for various projects throughout the Midwest primarily in Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri, and other regions as needed.
Essential Job Functions
• Although expected to work independently, this individual must be able to interact well with other team members within the Wilson & Company team.
• Application of local, state, or AASHTO standards to design of standard roadway features including horizontal and vertical alignments, 3D modeling, roadside drainage, stormwater structures, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, and right-of-way plans.
• Develop and review cost estimates and calculation of construction quantities.
• Complete accurate construction plans including Roadway Sections, Alignments, Profiles, Drainage Plans and Profiles, Utility Plans, Paving, Pavement Marking Plans, Signing Plans, and Traffic Control Plans.
• Work with a team in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for projects of various size and complexity.

Required Experience
• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
• Passing score for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or ability to obtain within 1 year
• 0-3 years’ experience in the design of streets and/or highways
• Experience with federal, state and local regulations that pertain to the design of street and/or highway projects is preferred
• Experience with MicroStation and ORD software is preferred
Salary Range: $60,000 - $89,000 Annually
