Job Description
AmeriStaff is currently seeking an experienced Real Estate Accountant to fill an opening with a company located in Martinsville, VA. The position is with a premier employer with nearly 150-year presence in Southside Virginia with recent expansions into other areas and lines of business in the Commonwealth. The ideal candidate should have experience in real estate and operating a computer and Microsoft Excel.

Requirements of the Real Estate Accountant:
• Bachelor's or Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years of related experience and/or training required.
• Experience in real estate preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Strong understanding and ability to use Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
• Knowledge of and proficient in current accounting software.
• Ability to use high level Internet software and understand and be able to use and maintain Inventory software.
• Ability to obtain data and manipulate.
• Required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Responsibilities of the Real Estate Accountant:
• Prepares reports which summarize business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
• Assists in preparation of divisional budgets.
• Advises and assists AP team for multiple divisions.
• Backup to Office Administrator
• Supports administrative tasks related to insurance and other corporate sponsored programs
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
Compensation and Hours
Salary Range: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 Year DOE (Depends on Experience) Benefits Provided: 401K, Dental, Holidays, Life Insurance, Medical, Sick Leave, Vacation Other Benefits: Not Available Full or Part Time: Full Time (30 Hours or More) Job Duration: Over 150 Days Type of Job: Regular
