Company Overview
The Marmon HDT Research and Development Group works with the various business units of the Marmon Heavy Duty Transportation Group serving the heavy-duty commercial vehicle market. R&D engineers take a hands-on approach to existing and new product development from identifying the voice of the customer and ideation through design implementation and validation. Current emphasis is on developing emerging vehicle technologies including electrification and autonomous vehicles.
We are seeking a reliable, motivated production manager to join Fontaine Modification. In this position, you will utilize your experience, leadership, and communication skills to direct team members. You must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines to produce quality products safely and cost-effectively while preserving a positive attitude and providing excellent customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Follow and enforce all established policies, procedures, and recognized practices
• Oversee production schedule; assign and oversee all projects
• Estimate costs and follow budgets accordingly
• Resolve any issues; working with other departments
• Meet and exceed all customer service requirements
• Responsible for working with QC personnel to drive product quality
• Order supplies as required and work with purchasing department on inventory items
• Complete understanding and implementation of 5S concepts
• Responsible for all line lead personnel and scheduling their daily assignments
• Work with line leads and engineering to ensure all installations performed meet quality and efficiency standards
• Direction of the line lead morning meeting to review safety items, the previous day’s production and the current day’s goals and objectives
• In conjunction with the Facility Manager, maintain all production staff by selecting, orienting and training employees as well as identify employee skill sets and assisting with employee growth
• Consistent use of 80/20 toolbox items, including USA projects throughout the production staff
• Solid experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn Status, M2M and other scheduling and order processing programs
• Implementation and execution of production forecast developed by the FMC
Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree and/or related operations experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory or management role
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a manufacturing environment
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
