Job Summary: The RCM Team Captain's primary responsibility is to facilitate a collaborative and constructive working relationship between MSO, RCM Specialists, and practice personnel in the practices that they support. As the leader of each team, the RCM Team Captain is expected to have a solid grasp of the technical aspects of the position as well as expertise in each function their team members perform. The RCM Team Captain is responsible for communication with the Practice Managers and Practice Coordinators regarding any issues that are detrimental to meeting Key Performance Index's (KPI) of MSO as well as the practice. The RCM Team Captain is expected to meet with the Practice Managers on a regular basis to review daily and monthly reports, communicate issues with front-end data entry, impediments to collections, claim denials, and communication issues with the MSO team staff. The RCM Team Captain is also expected to provide education and guidance to the Practice Managers and Business Associates. The RCM Team Captain will meet weekly with the Practice Coordinators to discuss the status of the working relationship with the offices they support. The RCM Team Captain is responsible for the supervision of their team members, including time management, discipline, corrective action work plans, education, training, performance reviews, etc.
Essential Job Functions
• Communication with Practice Managers and Coordinators
• Establish and maintain a routine meeting schedule with Practice Managers
• Review established key performance index's for both the MSO and offices
• Weekly Office Update report to the Practice Coordinators
• Education instructor to MSO Team Members and Practice Personnel
• Biweekly meeting attendance with the Revenue Cycle Manager
• Time Management of Team Staff members
• Ensure team members follow the policies as outlined in the employee handbook
• Disciplinary and corrective action plans as needed
• Yearly performance review of team staff members
Additional or different duties may be assigned occasionally at the employer's discretion.
Qualifications
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and five (5) years of related experience. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of related experience and/or training may be considered.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Strong communications skills, Dental or Medical Office terminology, entry level CPT and ICD10 coding knowledge, MS Office 360 Proficiency, Health/Dental insurance knowledge, claims denial, appeal, and research experience, account resolution and collection experience, goal setting/monitoring, and dispute resolution.
Physical Requirements - Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, able to lift at least 20lbs.
