Director of Financial Planning and Analysis
Job Description
A Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for directing and overseeing the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, refining company projections to align with the most recent results, in addition to preparing management-level reports and summaries of key financial indicator performance. The candidate will maintain and continually improve the accuracy of the company’s forecast by suggesting corrective changes.
Responsibilities
• Assist in coordinating all monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closes and associated variance reporting to budget and re-forecasting, including setting a regular rhythm with specific timelines and deadlines to meet all public company reporting requirements
• Work closely between Accounting, Treasury, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data
• Coordinate and lead the annual budgeting/forecasting and monthly tracking of these budgets across the organization (including but not limited to operations, development, marine, and LNG Trading teams as well as various corporate departments
• Support the Finance team by building out reports and running ad hoc analyses to understand project-level performance and operations, primarily utilizing Excel.
• Improve and streamline company reporting procedures and operating processes related to the reporting of actual financial results across all financial statements.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting
• 7+ years of FP&A or corporate finance experience
• Power generation, shipping & transportation or natural gas/LNG industry experience is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced proficiency in Excel
• Strong modeling and financial analysis skills, coupled with an understanding and interest in financial reporting systems and processes
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, strategist with implementation skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience using Navision (NAV) or Dynamics NAV General Ledger, Onestream, Oracle, or other ERP Systems is a plus
• Highly driven, quick thinker, and problem-solver; impeccable integrity and a strong personal work ethic.
