EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL ED TEACHER
• POSITION SUMMARY
• Position Summary:
• This position is responsible for the provision of early childhood special education services for those patients primarily ages 0-3 years in the Infant Child Development (ICD) program who demonstrate delays or deficits in any area of their development (cognitive, speech, motor, vision, hearing, adaptive/self help behaviors). Plans, organizes and implements early childhood special education services for patients and families in the ICD program including comprehensive assessment, development of treatment plan, delivery and documentation of service, education, consultation, and discharge/transition planning.
• POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum Education
• Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Special Education or Early Childhood Unified
• OR- qualified for KSDE ECSE/ECU waiver licensure during completion of the degree
• Minimum Experience
• One year of experience in early childhood special education preferred
• Experience with assistive technology and sign language preferred
• Required Registration/License/Certification
• Kansas Teaching license
• Valid Kansas Driver’s license
• Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider) successfully completed within the fir 90 days of employment.
