Lead Line Leader
Career Opportunity:
The Lead Assembly Line Leader position is responsible for providing leadership to the Assembly Line Leaders on the assigned shift and assist and support the shift Supervisor.
How you will impact WestRock:
* Perform basic line leader duties as outlined in the Line Leader job description.
* Assume leadership role with other line leaders on assigned shift.
* Direct line leaders and assist them with problem solving, trouble shooting, achieving production goals, line efficiencies and quality as specified in the work order.
* Understand and utilize production run equations including cycle time, flow time and pace conveyor calculations.
* Support Supervisor in achieving plant goals as well as divisional and company goals.
* Oversee the shift occasionally in Supervisor's absence assuming other salaried presence.
* Promote and support company safety program.
* Make scheduling decisions with lines and crews on a daily basis.
* Maintain housekeeping standards.
* Assist with training of new line leaders and retraining of existing line leaders as needed.
* Liaison with other departments such as quality assurance, warehouse, maintenance, and project coordination to ensure ongoing team effort and problem resolution.
* Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
* Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
* Overtime is required.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
* High school diploma or GED minimum.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
* May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and basic computer skills.
* The Lead Assembly Line Leader position requires at least one (1) year line leader experience; Good communication and proficient math skills.
