Choice Healthcare at Roanoke is looking for RNs to join our team!
Responsibilities:
• Direct and/or assist in the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the attending physician, Medical Director, Unit Manager, or the DON concerning the status and care of the resident
• Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians’ Order Form.
• Chart nurses/ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident’s response to the care.
• Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop work assignments and/or assist in completing and performing such assignments.
• Make rounds frequently on the unit to ensure that nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Report problem areas to the Unit Manager.
Requirements/Qualifications: • As Charge Nurse/Staff Nurse you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a RN or LPN
• Must have, as a minimum, one (1) year of hospital experience.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Works beyond normal working hours, and other positions temporarily, when necessary.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulation, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED
