Choice Healthcare at Roanoke is looking for a Maintenance Director to join our team!
Responsibilities:
• As the Director of Maintenance, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
• Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility (i.e., power rooms, resident rooms therapy rooms, Dietary, etc.).
• Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
• Coordinate maintenance and services and activities with other related departments (i.e. Dietary, Nursing, etc.).
• Keep abreast of economic condition/situations and recommend to the Administrator adjustments in maintenance services that assure the continued ability to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
• Ensure that outside services are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders
• Supervise safety and fire protection and prevention programs by inspection work areas and equipment at least weekly
• Ensure that supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained to provide a safe and comfortable environment
• Make periodic rounds to check equipment and to assure that necessary equipment is available and working properly.
• Make weekly inspections of all maintenance functions to assure that quality control measures are continually maintained.
Requirements/Qualifications: • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
• Must have, as a minimum, five (5) years experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant related position.
• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generator, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed.

• Is required to be on-call for emergency situations.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must be knowledgeable of maintenance practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations and guidelines governing maintenance functions in the long-term facility.
• Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agencies.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift.
