Job Description
AmeriStaff is currently recruiting for a Sorter position for a aluminum manufacturing company located in Martinsville, VA. The ideal candidate should have experience sorting and identifying defects in products.
Benefits of the Sorter:
* $16.00 per hour.
* 12 hour night shift.
* 7:00pm - 7:00am.
Responsibility of the Sorter:
* Sorts beverage cans efficiently by utilizing plant equipment.
* Accurately sorts cans according to company standards.
* Monitors and excludes defective items.
* Maintains a high level of accuracy and efficiency while sorting cans.
* Maintains a clean and organized production area.
* Assists in loading and unloading items.
* Operates forklift as needed.
* Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
Requirements of the Sorter:
* Experience working in a high-speed work environment.
* Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.

High School Education/GED preferred.
*
Experience reading and understanding date codes and pallet tickets, know how to operate computer to generate pallet tickets and the procedures for application.

Know and understand overall quality requirements and be capable for identifying defects.
* Basic reading, math and writing skills.
* Good organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and with a team.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
* The associate may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
