Position Description
The First Line Supervisor is responsible for the execution of the daily production plan in order to ensure a quality product is made on time by following site safety rules and philosophy. The first line supervisor will plan, direct, coordinate, and audit the day-to-day production activities to ensure customer and business objectives are met.
Principal Responsibilities
• Effectively lead a team of production/manufacturing employees with responsibility for all aspects of safety, product quality and operating efficiency.

• Responsible for the execution of production schedule/ priority list and the communication of status.
• Lead daily Tier 1 meetings to share key information related to safety, quality, cost, customer, and business objectives.
• Identify and train employees where needed to support task.
• Adheres to the Axalta Way behaviors.
• Is responsible for coaching, counseling, career development and recognition of employees, as appropriate.
• Monitors the performance of personnel and takes corrective action when necessary to maintain established company, site, or Axalta Way standards.
• Ensures maintenance activities are supporting area objectives.
• Responsible for employee time and attendance including breaks and other off the floor time.
• Handling personnel issues and team conflicts as well as training and proper staffing issues.
• Issues preliminary incident reports for Safety and Quality variance and gathers all facts and review finding and path forwards with teams.
• Attend core roles or ensure area has representative for core role meetings and communicates information back to team.
• Provide cross plant coverage as back up for other team leads.
• Attend VAP, reliability meeting, scrum and 5-week process and provide AOE and 5S accountability
• Conduct and review stop audit findings in areas and provide EHS&S and area with findings and completed audit.
• Participate and provide the site coordinators resourcing so they and their teams successfully complete the first party audits and help ensure their shift corrects any audit findings identified; may work with the appropriate VAP resource.
Qualifications
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Education Minimum Requirement
• High School Degree or GED Required
• Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) preferred or equivalent with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
