Description The City of Roanoke is seeking a Seasonal Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance tasks within Roanoke's parks, athletic fields, landscaped areas, right of ways, horticultural plantings, and tree trimming. The successful candidate will operate a variety of mowing equipment, edgers, string trimmers, blowers and other small power equipment;  marks and maintains athletic fields; plants, waters, and maintains flowers, shrubs and trees; assist with special event support; maintains playground and related facilities.  Work is accomplished under the direction of Maintenance Technician III and/or IV.  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training in performance of heavy manual work is desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience.    Work 40 hours per week from April - January.
