The City of Martinsville Fire & EMS Department is testing for current full-time positions. Minimum requirements : possess a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid Virginia driver’s license, current Virginia Firefighter I and EMT certifications, and pass a satisfactory employment and background investigation. Preference is given to applicants holding ALS certifications.
Starting full-time pay range -$40,415.46 - $51,000, based on Virginia Firefighter and EMS certifications.
A $1,500 - $6,000 hire-on bonus is offered for new full-time personnel based on Virginia Firefighter and EMS certifications.

Minimum qualifications to test: Virginia Firefighter I and EMT.
Candidates must successfully complete physical agility and EMS assessment testing. Testing information will be provided to selected applicants.
Pre-employment physical, background investigation, and drug test required for selected applicants.
If selected, candidates are required to obtain their Paramedic certification within three years of employment.
