Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY :
The Groundskeeper is responsible for all MFIEPC Gaylord facilities grounds maintenance, including snow removal.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lawn maintenance and snow removal for MFI-MGW Gaylord Facility and GY2.
• Checks that emergency lighting and emergency showers are working properly.
• Performs security checks at GY1 and GY2.
• Performs routine inspection of equipment and reports repair needs to supervisor.
• Collects outside garbage containers and disposes of material appropriately.
• Responsible for ensuring that inedible product is hauled as needed between facilities by either driving a Company  vehicle and/or assisting in the completion of the task by a third party
• Maintains parking and access roadways clean during winter months and coordinates with supervisor the need for additional contract support.
• Checks and replaces lighting in both facilities according to the preventive maintenance schedule or the work order system.
• Completes required documentation necessary for recyclables and hazardous waste material to include; site inspection, completing forms, overseeing proper storage and collection of disposal. Submits the information to supervisor or assigned agent.
• Checks the condition of emergency spill kits at GY1 and GY2.
• Record keeping of above ground tank inspections.
• Knows and understands all operating procedures for safe and efficient operations of equipment.
• Lends knowledge and ideas to the solution of problems involving building repairs and grounds keeping.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
• Adheres to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
• Maintenance background and previous experience required.
• Experience in electrical, welding and pneumatics.
• Experience with farm equipment operation and repair.
• Handling small quantities of hazardous materials
• Class B driving license
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to operate specific equipment or tools including skid loader and lawn mower
• Must meet DOT requirements for driving the vehicles needed to perform the essential duties of the job
