General Description Assist Recreation Program Supervisor and other Park and Recreation staff in coordinating, implementing, and supervising a variety of programs, special events, and leagues. Supervise seasonal staff, facilities, and perform office duties related to work. Work schedule will vary, including days, evenings, and weekends. Hours are 35-40 hours per week. Internship is seasonal from May - August.

• Plan, lead, implement, and evaluate a wide variety of programs, activities, and special events.
• Supervise, schedule, and evaluate seasonal staff.
• Develop marketing and promotion initiatives for the parks and recreation department.
• Perform departmental tasks, including writing reports, record keeping.
• Fill in as needed as a Recreation Center Cashier.
• Other duties as assigned or apparent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of recreation programs/activities offered by a municipal park and recreation dept.
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with staff and the general public.
• Ability to work with people of all ages and abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to provide good customer service.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Education and Experience Minimum Requirements
• Currently enrolled as a student in good standing immediately prior to and/or following the period of employment, studying Parks and Recreation Administration or related field.

• Valid driver's license.

Work is done in a variety of places, both indoors and outdoors, depending on the activity and/or task.
