This job is responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food for catering events such as Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Reunions and Business Meetings, among others. The position involves assisting in the development and maintaining of relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring that all events are executed to the highest standards of quality and customer service. The position is also responsible for coordinating with other departments such as marketing and operations in the efforts to develop and build new business for the Hotel. The job requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong understanding of the catering, banquet and events industry. Possible relocation expenses paid.
Position Title: Catering and Events Chef
Responsibilities:
• Menu Planning :
• Design innovative and diverse menus that cater to the specific needs and preferences of clients.
• Consider dietary restrictions, cultural preferences, and event themes when creating menus.
• Culinary Execution :
• Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes at events.
• Ensure high-quality and visually appealing culinary creations that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Team Management:
• Lead and supervise kitchen staff during events, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
• Coordinate with sous chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen personnel to maintain a cohesive team.
• Event Coordination:
• Collaborate with event planners to understand the logistics and requirements of each event.
• Participate in pre-event meetings to discuss menus, setup, and coordination with other vendors.
• Quality Control:
• Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards for food preparation and presentation.
• Conduct tastings to ensure consistency and excellence in the final product.
• Adaptability:
• Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting menus and recipes based on last-minute changes, client preferences, or unexpected challenges.
• Budget Management:
• Work with budget constraints to source ingredients and plan menus that meet financial targets.
Additional Requirements:
• Three years experience in catering events preferably in a hotel/restaurant environmet. Experience executing preparation & presentation with weddings, business seminars, private parties, anniversaries, graduations etc
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings & Holidays etc
• Commitment to outstanding customer service and providing memorable guest experiences
• Ability to prospect and facilitate presentations with prospective clients while maintaining and further developing current clientele
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors & supplier
