Technical Associate / Pilot Line Operator
The Technical Associate / Pilot Line Operator provides a variety of product testing and lab equipment operations that enable Ti to effectively develop new and improved products, evaluate new raw materials, and develop and evaluate new process technology platforms at our Covington Research & Development Facility, which houses less than seven full-time team members. The ideal candidate must be comfortable doing a little bit of everything and have had exposure to slitters, blending equipment and extruders.
This position ensures that the facilities are ready and able to complete scheduled development trials. This includes safety and good housekeeping, daily quality results, equipment maintenance, effective material logistics, and partnering with Research Scientists and team members.
Responsibilities:
• Perform a wide range of task including machine setup, line thread-up, documentation of variables, process adjustments, lab film testing within our Tenter film line.
• Perform manual adjustments of components, under general supervision, in the production of finished product.
• Able to prioritize workload efficiently.
• Perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on plant production equipment, utilities, building and grounds as required.
• Assist with maintenance activities including die adjustments, die cleaning, machine alignment, safety audits, and capitol project installations for Tenter film line.
• Assist with lab coating operations and slitting operations.
• Communicate needs and requirements to inventory personnel as well as communicating issues and discrepancies to other team members.
• Required to complete all product related documentation in a timely manner consistent with Taghleef’s quality expectations.
• Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements.
• Must be able to exercise sound judgment for decision-making responsibilities.
• Must be able to analyze situations/issues to determine if supervisory intervention is necessary.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements:
• Associate Degree in technical field is preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years in plastic manufacturing and familiar with film terminology, is highly preferred
• Continuous sheet (film, metal, paper) and roll handling experience, a plus
• Excellent skills in spoken and written English communication
• High-level of attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
• Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals at all levels
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work and time effectively and adapt to changing priorities to meet deadline
• Basic computer and Microsoft software product skills
