Job Post: Licensed Professional Nurse - Part - Time
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Professional Nurse to join our team for the 23-24 school year.
Responsibilities:
• Provide skilled nursing care and medical support to a school aged student with specialized needs.
• Assist with bus riding duties, ensuring the student's safety and well-being during transportation.
• Care for and assist with the needs of a wheelchair-bound student, including transfers between equipment.
• Monitor and manage seizures, ensuring the safety and comfort of the student during episodes.
• Administer G-Tube feedings and manage the associated care, following proper protocols and guidelines.
• Assist with changing and toileting needs, maintaining cleanliness and dignity for the student.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the student's care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of medical procedures, medications, and observations.
Qualifications:
• Valid licensure as a Professional Nurse.
• Experience working with middle school-aged students in a medical or educational setting.
• Knowledge and proficiency in managing seizures and providing necessary medical interventions.
• Familiarity with G-Tube feeding and associated care, including medication administration if required.
• Ability to assist with changing and toileting needs, demonstrating sensitivity and respect.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining medical documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassion, patience, and the ability to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for the student.
• Understanding and adherence to privacy and confidentiality guidelines.
