Performs administrative work for the Development Department. Responsibilities include the daily functions and scheduling for the department; does related work as required. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position.
·         Works with confidential information in daily record maintenance, donor communications and research
·         Duties include the receipt, proper accounting, and response to supporters of Boys Home, Inc.
·         Handles database management in daily operations, extracts necessary donor information and prepares reports for the Development                    Department
·         Primary staff responsible for effectively utilizing development software, office equipment and other technology;
·         Maintains Development Department calendar of scheduled tasks.
·         May assist in hosting visits, scheduling presentations, preparing solicitations and other appropriate publicity under the supervision of the              Development Director
·         Organizes workroom and storage areas.
·         Participates in other special projects, support functions and other Development activities as needed;
·         Coordinates the Neighborhood Assistance Program and the Educational Scholarship Program.
Must possess knowledge of computer systems and software; Extensive knowledge of ETapestry, Blackbaud, or other data software is a must; knowledge of NAP credit program and Educational credit programs preferred; ability to cultivate and maintain effective working relationships, excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work efficiently, handle details and meet deadlines, general knowledge of the services and programs provided by Boys Home, general knowledge of the principles and techniques of fundraising for non-profit institutions including annual fund marketing, major gifts and planned giving. Involves some evenings, weekends, and out-of-town travel.
A combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, accounting, computer technology, public relations, or related field.
