Translates electrical and mechanical design specifications into production bill of materials.With Direct Supervision:Work with Engineering drawings and assist the Engineers, Designers and CAD Operators in the preparation of Engineering drawingsSupport New Product Development activitiesOther duties and activities as instructed by the managerWithout Direct Supervision:Creation and development of new item numbers, bills of material structure, and documentation to support manufacturingComplete documentation and final review for ECO’s and deviationsSupport drawing revisions using latest software, with markups suppliedMaintain the MRP database and support manufacturing discrete job changesProvide manufacturing engineering support as needed for all EPGA factoriesCoordinate and facilitate information exchange with other LS facilities/teamsDuties and Responsibilities May Also Include:Review customer specifications and commercial/military standards to understand how they affect the requirements for generator and electronic control cabinet designsReview industry standards for requirements and compliance (UL, NEMA, NEC, IC, etc.)Create customer drawings and top-level assembly drawings for new productsParticipate with manufacturing and quality in response to requests for design improvements or drawing updatesRespond to customer request for modification to drawings and solid modelsProgramming of PLC’s, PAC’s, and HMI’sTroubleshooting and testing of electronics and electrical control systemsManage customer test procedure creation and delivery when requiredReview and approve test data and documentation as delivered from the production facilityCreate and submit customer specific test reports and other deliverables with input from electrical and mechanical engineeringSupport manufacturing standard labor time process allocations (Routings)Review BOM’s and compare them to customer drawings for processing of PPAP’sManage the new orders in engineering’s worklist and assist in reporting for the departmentAdditional Job DetailsExperience/Skills:3-7 years related work experienceProficient with use of various software applications, including but not limited to: Oracle (ERP), Aras (PLM), AutoCAD, Creo, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft OfficeGood written/oral communication and organizational skillsKnowledge of product construction and manufacturing processesMust be a US CitizenEducation:Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at NidecNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
