Candidates must hold a Minnesota CTE license (Communications Technology Careers, Industrial Arts, Vocational Ag, Ag Education, Construction Careers, Creative Design Careers, Technology, FACS, Computer Science, Etc.) Qualifications: MN CTE License and/or a valid MN teaching license in another field and willing to obtain an Out of Field Permission. If not currently licensed, must be willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 Teaching license. Excellent technology and interpersonal skills. Opportunities: Our school currently has several coaching opportunities available and an FFA Chapter. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students. Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth. Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to resolve students' behavioral and academic concerns. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations. Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic issues or special academic interests. Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula. Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress. Administer standardized, formative and state mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need. Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence. Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of District policies, rules, and regulations. Utilizes proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and English speaking skills. Works with students, District personnel, and the general public in a pleasant and cooperative manner. Understands and follows complex oral and written instruction and completes assignments in an independent manner. Analyzes situations and takes appropriate action regarding routine/emergency procedural matters without immediate supervision. Plans, organizes, and coordinates assigned tasks to meet established timelines. Maintains professional confidentiality and works collaboratively with peers. Possesses knowledge of technology to present lessons, communicate with others, and keep records. Salary: Based on the Le Sueur-Henderson Education Association Master Agreement.
