Greenville County Rec is seeking a friendly, caring and dedicated professional to assist in the direction of the overall food service operation at Pleasant Ridge Camp and Retreat Center including menu planning, event planning, purchasing, preparation, nutrition, service, sanitation, security, personnel management, customer service and record keeping.
Essential Tasks Include
• Assist in Management of the daily operation of food and dining service including coordinating activities between the kitchen staff, dining room staff and program staff.
• Assist through event planning and identify, through information sheets, those campers/participants who have special dietary needs and prepare meals accordingly.
• Ensure safe and efficient preparation and serving of camp meals.
• Advise and assist cabin counselors in special food prep for campers with special dietary needs; i.e. puree and food allergies.
• Advise and assist program staff with program cooking activities for campers.
• Assist with menu planning for user groups as directed.
• Coordinate with dining room staff any set up configuration requirements.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of food and household supplies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation and safety.
• Inspect equipment and ensure equipment is kept in full operational order.
• Promote practices to reduce waste, reuse items and recycle as much as possible.
• Ensure that all American Camping Association standards that apply to our facility are met and appropriate records are kept.
• Assist in the development and implementation employee training.
Minimum Qualifications
• Requires High School Diploma or GED
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
• Required Certifications: CPR/AED and First Aid certification. May be obtained post hiring.
• Current licensure and or certifications required. (Serve Safe) May be obtained post hiring.
