UC Health is hiring a Full time Clinical Educator for the Labor & Delivery department at UC Medical Center
The Clinical Educator will support the Medical Centers Labor & Delivery Department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.
The OBSCU is a Level IV Maternity Unit that serves a diverse patient population and wide range of diagnoses throughout patients’ pregnancies, including but not limited to diabetic management, cardiac complications such as cardiomyopathy, preterm labor, preeclampsia, and more.

Responsibilities:
The Nurse Educator is a registered nurse who influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners at the clinical unit level. The Nurse Educator possesses knowledge of clinical specialty and national standards related to nursing practice in their area of focus.
• ensure effective learning experiences.
• Has knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks.
• Interprets population-related data and plans care appropriately.
• The scope of the education consultant is primarily at the hospital/corporate level.
• The Education Consultant is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the education plans through the use of education needs assessments as needed, guidance from interprofessional leadership, and current evidence.
• Applies design principles and integrates technology to ensure effective learning experiences for competency assessment and validation to reflect practice changes, regulatory agency, or organizational policy requirements.
• Serves in collaboration with nursing and interprofessional leadership, the Professional Practice Organization (PPO), and other UC Health entities to implement nursing education and professional development programs.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree in nursing is required
• BLS Certification
• Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio
• Certification in Education and/or clinical specialty area strongly preferred; Certification in Education and/or clinical specialty area strongly preferred
• 3 - 5 Years equivalent clinical experience
