Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, attentive, and personalized service experience.
- Assist customers in selecting bakery items, offering recommendations and answering questions about ingredients, flavors, and dietary options.
- Handle cash and process transactions accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Package bakery products and ensure they are presented in an appealing manner.
- Maintain knowledge of our bakery's offerings, including bread, pastries, cakes, and seasonal specialties.
- Maintain a clean and organized front counter area, including display cases and product signage.
- Respond to customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and restocking bakery items as needed.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a food service or retail environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide personalized recommendations.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- For the full time position, ability to work an 8-9 hour shift, Thursday through Sunday.
