Title : Assembly Technician Location: Salem, VA Reports To: Production Supervisor Pay Type: Hourly, Contract ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Produce magnetic bearing assemblies and subassemblies Utilize hand tools, epoxies, and adhesives to produce electro-mechanical subassemblies. Use machines and resources to perform various tasks such as heating, pressing and balancing parts and assemblies. QUALIFICATIONS Education High school diploma or equivalent. Required Experience Minimum of one year assembly experience in a light industrial setting is preferred but not required. Language Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Skills Must be able to read, understand and follow assembly instructions, blueprints and wiring diagrams. Must be able to use hand tools such as screwdriver, pliers, etc. Must be able to operate lifting equipment, training will be provided. Basic computer skills. Physical Demands Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move material per Synchrony lifting standards. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must not have issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.
