Position: Quality Manager
Reports to: Senior Operations Manager
Department: 290/Quality
Location: Mankato, MN
Position Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt
Travel: 5%
Working Hours: Monday – Friday

Position Purpose: To provide leadership, direction, and training for the quality organization at Condux International. This lead manages the quality engineers and technicians to ensure areas of work, customer services, and the product qualities are maintained to the highest standard for our products.
Position Summary: To develop, lead and implement quality methods and protocol in accordance with company Quality System, ISO 9001. Supports continuous improvement on companywide initiatives as well as supporting plant specific projects as they arise.
Essential Duties:
• Maintains and tracks quality for purposes of analysis, control and management reports
• Maintains a quality management system in compliance with ISO9001 and AS9100 Standards
• Evaluates workload requirements and delegates assignments to quality engineers and technicians to meet program and production schedules
• Ensures the quality assurance objectives and processes are aligned with the corporate goals
• Provides education and training for Production Team members in Problem Solving, Root Cause Identification, Corrective Action, etc.
• Develops/Maintains auditing system to ensure compliance with Quality Management System.
• Assesses and document test results and document and approve recommended changes
• Suggests and document methods for improving quality, design, or manufacturing processes and facilities and document process improvement initiatives
• Manages investigations and reporting of manufacturing defects and customer escapes. Utilizes and leads Root Cause Corrective Action investigation in support of product improvements.
• Provide quality leadership to the new product introduction process
• Develops systems, methods to measure, monitor processes to products to assure compliant product including the use of APQP and PPAP
• Establishes, optimizes and maintains and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all business process in the organization
• Leads and directs work for team of employees as defined by business needs
• Manages staff selection, performance, development, and training process to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations
• Other responsibilities as assigned
• Consistent exercise of independent judgement and discretion in matters of significance
Maintain a Clean Work Environment
• Minimize Clutter within your working area
• Trip hazards are cleaned up to prevent incidents
• Ground is dry and free of scrap and metal particles
Keep Workstations/Tools Clean and Organized in a Lean 5S Program
• Sort – Separating tools, parts, and instructions
• Set In Order – Organizing tools, parts, and instructions neatly and identify for ease of use
• Shine – Cleanup work area with chemical products and sweeping
• Standardize – Regularly cleaning and maintenance
• Sustain – Make this process habitual and a part of everyday
Maintain A Good Attendance Record
• Following the schedule provided by the manager
• Have excellent communication with supervisor regarding planned time off and unplanned time off

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in quality assurance or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow success performance of job expectations
• Certified Lead Auditor or equivalent experience in related field
• 5-10 years of quality management experience
• Keen analytical skills with a high level of attention to details
• Ability to make technical and managerial decisions which have a significant effect on Quality Assurance
• Supervisory skills, including delegation, training, and evaluating performance
• Team building skill and proven desire to mentor, motivate and develop a team
• Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams as well as communicate effectively with all internal and external customers and employees in a timely and effective manner
• Able to lead, plan and direct technical efforts and apply technical tools to meet team objectives
• Knowledge of ISO9100, APQP and PPAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, twist, stoop, crawl, climb and bend
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work on a computer
• Must be able to lift up 15 pounds at times
Mental Demands:
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Be able to solve problems and issues effectively
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Working Conditions:
• Adheres to the time and attendance requirements as established by the Operations Manager and/or CEO
• Conditions will vary from office to production environments
• Overtime as required and/or needed
Salary Description
$85,000/yr - $110,000/yr (DOE)
