Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to clients in their homes
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Home Health Aide or completion of a recognized training program
- Previous experience in caregiving or related field preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of healthcare practices
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with clients
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
Skills:
- Experience in cooking nutritious meals for clients with dietary restrictions or preferences
- Knowledge of medical records management and documentation procedures
- Familiarity with hospice care principles and practices
- Proficiency in providing catheter care, if required by clients' needs
- Experience in tube feeding, including proper techniques and safety precautions
