Position Summary:
We are looking to add a motivated, customer service-oriented Fabrication Technician to join our Roanoke, VA team.
Essential functions and accountabilities will include:
• Perform mechanic duties adhering to areas of service, quality, safety, and overall effectiveness related to Key Performance Indicators. This includes ownership for downtime and accountability for timely availability of the equipment.
• Adhere to performance and safety standards in all areas of the shop
• Contribute to the manufacturing and installation of truck bodies, such as utility bodies, KUV bodies, flat bed bodies, and dump bodies.
• Enhance service department and organization`s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Essential Job Requirements
• Previous demonstration of successful mechanic experience
• Knowledge of truck equipment is required including welding, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to perform component exchanges/repairs
• Knowledge of general mechanic work
• Welding experience or knowledge preferred.
• Must own your own tools
• Must have ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and manufacturer written service manuals
• Must be able to troubleshoot breakdowns and diagnose issues
• Strong analytical skills
• Must have strong attention to detail, and sense of urgency
• Work in extreme weather conditions
• Communicate effectively with manager, co-workers, and clients
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Basic computer knowledge
• Equipment Maintenance Experience
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Must be dependable and customer service oriented
• Good verbal communications & documentation skills preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must have valid Virginia Driver’s License
