Founded in 1963, Accurus Aeropsace Athens, LLC (formerly McCann Aerospace) is one of Georgia's largest aerospace metal machining companies. We are a supplier to numerous Aerospace and Defense Contractors throughout North American, Europe and Asia.

We machine aluminum alloys and hard and exotic metals, fabricate sub-assemblies, deliver kits, and provide processing services, including anodizing, chem-film, shot-peening, priming and finish treatments to our global customers.
Summary:
Accurus Aerospace Athens, LLC employs three levels of Quality Engineers of which each is required to develop and sustain quality standards for the machining, processing, and assembly into finished products in accordance with industry standards, customer engineering, customer specifications, internal engineering, and digital product definitions. Quality Engineers are also required to analyze all elements of manufacturing to enhance quality through continuous improvements to process controls.

Essential Job Duties and Functions:
• Lead authority on the quality requirements set forth by the customer
• Customer liaison regarding all quality issues, audits & visits
• Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action analyses (customer & internal), Risk Assessments, Continuous Improvement and/or Process Improvement Activities
• Review & interpret customer contracts, purchase orders, specifications, and engineering definition to assure internal compliance
• Prepare and review customer document submittals for compliance to customer quality requirements (First Article, Compliance Certificates, RCCA, Nonconformance Submittals, etc.)
• Develop & Review internally created manufacturing support documentation for compliance to customer engineering (procedures, instructions, training, graphic manufacturing aides, inspection aides, etc.)
• Review engineering created work order planning and to validate the manufacturing, processing & assembly processes will support product conformance while assuring customer quality requirements are addressed
• Review engineering definition being flowed to sub tier suppliers for compliance to customer requirements
• Perform internal audits to assure compliance to Aerospace, Customer, and Internal requirements
• Generate and analyze data to support reporting, continuous improvements, and quality metrics (includes Statistical Analysis and Gage Reproducibility & Repeatability studies as required)
• Train and mentor inspectors and other personnel in quality requirements (Quality System, Procedure, Instructions, etc.)
• Facilitate the Quality Management System functions as identified in the organizations Quality manual and be a core team member in the implementation of advanced quality systems
• Perform inspection duties as required utilizing standard measuring instruments
• Activities or special projects as required by the Quality Manager
Physical Requirements:
• Sedentary work; sitting constantly; walking occasionally, lifting 25lbs or less occasionally with or without assistance; ability to sit for long periods of time
• Active Work; constantly driving, walking occasionally, lifting 25lbs or less occasionally with or without assistance
Work Environment:
• Includes both a typical office and shop environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise, hazards or adverse environmental issues, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions
Education/Experience:
• High school diplomas/GED required
• 2 Year - Technical Degree (Associate or higher) preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing quality role required
