The Reliability Engineer ensures the unit is running at entitlement reliability targets and anticipates potential emerging issues. Knowledge of process, product, and equipment to effectively manage emerging issues. Ensures proper use of Root Cause Analysis process and corrective action plans to close the gap.
Key Activities:
Stewardship
• Initiates MOC’s (management of change) and field walk down of implementation
• MOC Core team member
• Field walkthroughs for hazard recognition, housekeeping, reliability centered rounds
Quality
• Ensures equipment reliability for quality impacting equipment
Production/Reliability
• Monitors process, product and equipment to detect and anticipate emerging issues
• Engage with 24/7 Team to identify and remove daily execution barriers
• Leads RCA process and develops corrective action plans for equipment failures
• Develops improvement plans using data from bad actor metrics and unit losses to improve OSR
• Collaborates with Asset Leader to understand and set priority for equipment repairs impacting reliability
• Develop and implement PM plans for Unit specific equipment
• Develops and maintains Unit annual PM and maintenance schedule/plans
• Develop process letters for submittal
Engagement
• Builds strategy around reliability system training and knowledge support
• Supports Process Experts training and progression program as reliability SME
• Communicate with outside units to share best practices
• Assist with other Core(s) issues as needed or as requested
• Escalates issues that cannot be resolved regarding key activities of SQRE plan
KPI's:
• OSR
• RCA and CAP completion
• Bad actor metrics
• Preventative Maintenance Compliance
• Unit Specific MTBF
Outputs:
• Reliability and continuous improvement of unit through RCA process and action plans
• Conducts technical training and strategy for reliability centered knowledge
• Key operating parameters
• MOC rationale and documentation
• Process letters
Qualifications:
• B.S. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• 5 years experience preferred
• Experience with turbo generators, refrigeration, steam turbines, steam boilers, distillation, reaction chemical process corrosion issues.
