Process Quality Engineer
Position Mission: This Process Quality Engineer is in charge of monitoring, analyzing, investigating and reporting on scrap/PPM trends in the line, in real time, and apply special projects inside Process Quality team with the goal of helping to reduce line PPM and remove the systemic/major PPM offenders. The Process Quality Engineer will have a key role to lead the root cause analysis of top issues as well as the corrective and preventive action process to drive continuous improvement approach inside Quality.
Main Responsibilities:
• Analyse scrap/ppm data for the production process
• Lead projects to reduce top scrap/PPM issues, working closely with production and engineering
• Monitor for negative trends in PPM and identify main contributors
• Develop, manage, and lead continuous improvement projects aligning with department strategy and goals
• Manage a portfolio of quality improvement projects and execute using Six Sigma and QA tools
• Maintain and develop methods for collecting, tracking, and displaying operational quality data and metrics
• Lead and assist root cause analysis investigations for key customer quality issues
• Share best practices across products and departments and drive standardization
• Specify, justify and implement new technology and system improvements
• Analyse root cause for high PPM failures
• Support production team with structured problem-solving methodology (8D, 5-why)
• Present findings and action plans in weekly meetings
• Assist members from other departments in activities to address non-conformities
• Assist with process capability studies
• Coordinate local activities related with corporate projects:
• Lessons Learned (issue and feedback)
• Cleanliness project and regular audits
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree of Science (Engineering preferred)
Experiences Required:
• Min. 5 years of experience in the Quality Control Department
• Continuous improvement project implementation
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
• Six Sigma certification is a plus
