Salem VA Medical Center - Salem, Virginia
The Salem  VA Medical Center has an immediate opening for a full-time, board certified/board eligible Nephrologist to work in our superb Emergency Medicine. The Salem-Roanoke City area is a beautiful outdoor  area for hiking/biking,  as well as numerous colleges and universities, theaters, lakes, golf courses, beautiful housing areas, churches, and great schools.  Candidates must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health of our veterans. The Salem VA Medical Center is fully dedicated to providing top-quality medical care by serving and honoring America’s Veterans.
Highlights of this position include:
• Potential starting base salary: $230,000 - $280,000
• Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery from any U.S. State
Additional requirements:
• Board certified or board eligible
We offer:
• Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans, up to $200K over 5 years, if approved.
• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
• Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
• CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
• Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
