Job Purpose
The Finance and Accounting Development Program offers an exciting opportunity for high potential individuals looking to gain the experience, skills, and exposure that they need to help launch their career at EnerSys. Participants in the program are expected to make a positive impact on the organization while rotating through different functional areas within the accounting and finance teams. During these rotations, the candidate will be expected to perform the necessary tasks and duties expected of the position; identify opportunities and
subsequently implement improvements to the existing processes using EOS (EnerSys Operating System) techniques; engage with business partners to improve the analysis and forecasting processes; develop relationships; and better understand the economic and organizational dynamics of EnerSys.
The candidate will be provided with specific training, hands on coaching, and mentors to help ensure success in EOS (lean six sigma) as well as accounting and finance areas. Additionally, the candidate will be provided with clear goals and measurement criteria for success in each rotation.The program is expected to last about 3 years. Candidates proven successful over the course of their rotations will transition into the business based on opportunities available at that time.
We would be looking for the selected candidate to be able to start working in the role by August 2023 at the latest . This position will work onsite at our Global Corporate headquarters in Reading, PA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Successfully perform all aspects of rotational position and project assignments. Specific expectations to be discussed and agreed upon prior
to the assignments. Candidates can expect a variety of general accounting, costing and/or controlling accounting, forecasting, analysis,
auditing, and process improvement.
2. Work within a team to develop and implement optimized processes using EOS methodology. This will include process mapping of the
current and future states, transformation planning, change management, and ongoing monitoring activities related to process changes. It
involves simplifying, streamlining, and harmonizing essential accounting and finance processes to create a leaner, more efficient operation.
The candidate will be expected to gain EOS (Lean Six Sigma) Belts during their tenure.
3. Creating and supporting process improvement and project deliverables such as policy documentation, risk control matrices, trainings,
templates, automated tools, models, etc. Similar support for related IT initiatives including working with IT and finance users to ensure
needs, requirements, and deliverables are well articulated and met, assisting with UAT, and training impacted staff.
4. Candidate must be able to utilize project management skills to effectively manage a team and deliver outcomes on schedule.
5. Candidate should be able to support the overall accounting and finance structure as a temporary resource, as needed, to fill short-term
staffing needs that may arise throughout the company.
6. Participation in the EnerSys Leadership Development Program, other skill development programs, internal committees, and other similar
opportunities to learn and apply skills and experiences will be expected.
7. Other projects, tasks, and duties as assigned.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Travel will vary in intensity and could involve extended trips both domestic and internationally to support various
projects, initiatives, and assignments. Candidate should be willing and able to travel extensively, relocate, or work remotely based on the specific
needs of the rotation. Opportunities at the completion of the 3 year program may be in any of the EnerSys locations and may require relocation.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. No experience necessary but candidates with a few years of auditing or consulting experience preferred.
2. Must have a Bachelors’ degree. Candidates with a MBA, Masters’ Degree or at least 150 credit hours and willing to pursue a CPA exam are
strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Must be highly motivated as demonstrated through exceptional GPA and extra-curricular activities.
2. Must be willing to pursue CPA or similar designations and EOS (Lean Six Sigma) Belts.
3. Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of general business processes, general accounting relationships, and impact on the financial statements.
4. Must be a team player while also able to excel as an individual contributor.
5. Must be a fast learner with developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Must be able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks with various deadlines.
7. Must be able to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with employees and management.
8. Must be a positive minded change agent that stays on the cutting edge of technology and technical requirements.
9. Must be willing and able to travel for long-term assignments and/or relocate for hands-on roles, as necessary. Travel and relocation may be international in nature.
