Stocker - Weekend ShiftLocation: Martinsville, VAThe Martinsville Distribution Center operates on three shifts as indicated below. Please select your shift preference when applying for this position.1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday - Thursday) 10 hour shifts​Starting pay is $16.00 per hour and will increase to $18.80 per hour after 12 months.2nd Shift: 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. (Monday - Thursday) 10 hour shifts​Starting pay is $16.60 per hour and will increase to $19.40 per hour after 12 months.Weekend Shift: 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) 12 hour shifts​Starting pay is $16.75 per hour and will increase to $19.55 per hour after 12 months.Become the Newest Member of the VF Team   General Job Description:Putting cartons on pallet according to orders.Receiving tractor trailer loads of case merchandise, noting details and any problems with the shipments, working inside of trailers.Receive cartons in a drop zone, prepare them to be stocked, move the cartons to their designated bin location and stock them in a timely and accurate manner.To follow at all times, company safety rules, ergonomic procedures and shipping guidelines.  To be retrained in these areas when requirements have been modified or updated.To be cross trained and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Physical Requirements:Lifting cartons which can weigh 45 lbs.Stacking and pushing cartons on a cart/hand truckGripping when using a knife to open and prepare boxesBending, reaching and pushing to stack boxes on upper and lower aisle shelvesPinch gripping to inspect several garments in each new boxCutting box with utility knifeOperating fork truck/ walkie rider / pallet jackKnowledge and Skill Requirements:Start your career with a premiere employer and be trained on the job by one of our experienced employees.High school diploma or equivalent education is preferred, but not required.One year of experience is preferred, but not required.Knowledge and Application:Basic level of education will be required; reading, writing, and basic numeracy •Required to follow simple instructions •No formal occupational training requiredProblem Solving:* Problems encountered will be defined, repetitive, and routine with a solution readily available * All nonstandard problems will be referred to supervisor or more experienced incumbent* Solutions are obvious or there are a finite number of clear-cut alternatives* Solutions can be reached and applied immediatelyInteraction:* Interaction with others is limited to own team with little requirement for internal or external contact* Basic numeracy and literacy skills required* Displays common courtesy and politeness and uses basic verbal skillsImpact:* Supports the achievement of goals through personal effort in own work area* Impact will be limited to the delivery of own work tasks which will be managed on a day-to-day or task-by-task basis*Accountability:* Accountable for delivery of own tasks to agreed time and quality standards*Questions?
