Expected Starting Salary Range: 42.17 - 53.64
SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Works in the delivery of proton therapy treatment.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
·Treatment Planning
Uses the treatment planning system to optimize Intensity Modulated Proton therapy (IMPT) and, to a much lesser degree, photon Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) plans, particularly for insurance approval. Demonstrates basic skill at planning system operation, including optimization, contouring, dose calculation and plan reporting. Communicates actively with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists throughout plan creation and approval process.
·Planning and Imaging Data Management
Aggregates, imports and registers simulation imaging, ancillary imaging and prior radiation records. Communicates effectively with other hospitals and imaging centers.
·Documentation
Documents clinical activities, importantly proper and accurate planning reports, as well as records proper billing codes with respect to dosimetry and treatment planning.
·Other duties
The Medical Physics group, having a diverse portfolio of clinical and research roles, may require the dosimetrist to assist in other clinical, technical or research duties.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required: ·Bachelor's Degree OR degree and experience permitting CMD eligibility.
