The Lead Teacher role is a great opportunity if you are:
A recent graduate looking to start your career in early childhood education, a seasoned professional, or a current substitute teacher seeking a full-time, benefited role!
The Lead Teacher will be responsible for developing strong relationships with children and families, implementing curriculum, maintaining compliance with Head Start Performance standards, following Heartland policies and Procedures, and Child Care Licensing rules and regulations. This position will partner with a multi-disciplinary team to provide the best service to our Head Start Families. The Lead Teacher will supervisor two teacher assistants.
Head Start offers opportunity for on-site professional development scheduled during work hours, a team-oriented program that assists with providing the best service for our families, and individualized coaching.
Head Start is a no cost, all-inclusive, child-focused and family-centered preschool program for children ages 3-5. A range of individualized services are available in the areas of education, early childhood development, medical, dental, mental health, nutrition, family support, and parent education.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Prefer a Bachelor degree in early childhood education with a Kansas teaching license that qualifies her/him to teach preschool or Bachelor degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
• Require an Associate’s degree in early childhood education with proven competencies in the field of early childhood education.
• Require a Child Development Associate credential with a minimum of two years’ experience in a Heartland Head Start classroom or equivalent classroom and proven competencies in the field of early childhood education. Enrollment in towards an Associate’s degree in early childhood education is required.
Salary:    Based on education and experience.
