Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." POSITION SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for, repairs and maintenance of   processing, packaging, and associated down-line equipment, in the assigned area, to assure the line(s) are running at optimum efficiently. The position will have advanced skills for troubleshooting, calibrating, maintaining and installing, electronic/process control equipment, basic electrical equipment, and packaging machinery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs mechanical, process/electronic control, repairs to all production related equipment to ensure continuous operation and production while optimizing line efficiency.
ASEPTIC AREA: Touch-screens, flow meters, RTD’s, PLC’s, pressure transducers, micro switches, magnetic sensors, relay, timers, frequency drives, motor starters, soft start, Elopaks, Scholles, robots, pumps and processing equipment, packaging equipment, and other associated equipment as needed within the area.
PRE-COOKED: Touch-screens, flow meters, RTD’s, PLC’s, , pressure transducers, micro switches, magnetic sensors, relay, timers, frequency drives, motor starters, soft start, natural gas burners, and burner controls, process heat and cooling controls, ovens, freezers, robots, pumps and processing equipment, packaging equipment, and other associated equipment within the area.
An understanding of and the ability to troubleshoot touch-screens, I/O devices and PLC’s is required.
A basic understanding and ability to trouble-shoot high voltage starters, frequency drives, motors and their control circuits.
Communicate effectively between other shifts/team members regarding operating settings, repairs, and PM tasks that are necessary for continuous operating systems.
Assist in installation of new equipment and electrical/electronic equipment
Informs Maintenance Lead of any problems encountered, and day to day activities and be able to recommend possible solution options for problems that arise.
Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
Relevant Experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization in English
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to operate the specific equipment and tools required to perform the essential functions of the job
Skill in working with computers and experience with spreadsheet and word-processing software, desirable.
