Location Description: Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets. Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Lead is responsible for inspecting, evaluating and maintaining Processing, Breaking, Packaging and Pre-Cooked departments, and assisting in the installation of equipment and line modifications.  This person will also be responsible for scheduling work assignments for the Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians on his shift, training employees, communication between departments and insuring completion of assignments on time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in the training of new employees.
• Inform other shifts of any problems that have occurred throughout the day.
• Communicate with the equipment manufacturers on any problems and follow-up on getting the right parts needed to correct the problems.
• Schedule work assignments and follow through with getting them completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor of any major problems and day to day activities.
• Assist the Mechanic with trouble shooting and any problems they may have throughout the day.
• Lends knowledge and ideas to the solution of problems involving the Processing, Packaging, Pre-Cooked, and Breaking areas.
• Keep complete and accurate records of the equipment and a check list of things that need to be completed.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
• May fill in for Maintenance Supervisor, as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Three years strong industrial maintenance background in a food processing plant and previous experience required.  Experience in electrical, welding and pneumatics helpful
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to delegate and follow up on workload needed.
• Leadership skills necessary
• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
