UVA Information Technology Services is seeking a Classroom Support Associate.  The Classroom Support Associate maintains and supports technology-enhanced classrooms provided by the Provost Office at the University of Virginia. The Associate will provide audio, video, computer, and other hardware and software support; ensuring that university and department equipment remains functional. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide training and operational assistance to faculty, staff and student users on AV equipment and use. This is a student wage position requiring 20 hours per week. The ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision-making under pressure is required as is demonstrated experience working within a framework of standards and guidelines. Work hours are evenings (6:00 pm – 10:00 pm) Monday-Thursday.Duties/Responsibilities Include:Assist faculty, staff and other end users with technology installed in classrooms.Perform simple maintenance and testing on audio/video equipment per written instructions.Lock all classrooms securely after use.Ensure all classroom spaces are tidy, organized, and free of debris.Prepare classrooms to be ready and functional for classes the next morning.Report any damages or maintenance needs to the facility management team.Communicate effectively with evening staff to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.Proficient in communicating and collaborating in Microsoft Teams.Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Ability to walk up to 2-4 miles in an 4-hour shift.Performs other duties as assigned. ​Physical Demands:Frequent walking to accomplish tasks.  Lifting of equipment weighing up to 30lbs.May be required to move office furniture.Please attach cover letter and resume.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation: Current undergrad UVA studentExperience: NoneLicensure: NonePHYSICAL DEMANDSThis is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
