Description
HSSE Coordinator:
• Maintain Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental documentation including the local policy, manual and procedures for the Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Management System.
• Responsible for the Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Education of personnel,
• Organizing educational programs and trainings
• Setting up information system for communications of employees
• Provide information on occupational health/employee exposure regarding the effects of workplace chemicals and materials.
• Work closely with site Nurse to co-ordinate and facilitate required medical evaluations and screenings.
• Provide information on how manufacturing processes can be designed to minimize occupational health and safety hazards and risks.
• Preventing occupational health and safety problems from arising by assessing new and modified manufacturing processes from an occupational health and safety standpoint.
• Assume responsibility for compiling information for a site-specific manual with occupational health and safety procedures for manufacturing processes as well as practical contingency plans for emergencies.
• Assess site risks through site risk assessments. (ABRAS). Be able to work with teams to eliminate or reduce risk associated with job related functions.

• SDS Chemical review and distribution
• Incident Investigation & resolution
• Conduct Rapid Problem Solving with area Supervision.
• Daily Environmental data collection and waste removal
• Data entry
• Emergency response coordination
• Contractor Safety Management
• Help build, lead, and develop site safety teams.
• Become an OSHA approved SGE for VPP
• Attend Annual OSHA Conferences for self-development.
• Attend assigned developmental courses.
• Be a liaison for the company with OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
The person will need to work closely with the Safety Manager and Production Supervision to drive safety accountability and build safety culture in the facility. The applicant should have general knowledge in areas safety, regulations, PPE requirements, SDS system, and Incident investigation. VPP, Safety experience would be a plus.
Any activity associated with the safety program will be helpful and general safety awareness is required. Additional training relating to safety would be helpful, but not required. Certifications are helpful, but not required.
This person will need to be flexible, as from time to time the work schedule may need to be altered. Applicant must be proficient with Microsoft office, excel & power point. Applicant must be willing to learn new programs, experience with Intelex would be helpful.
