Job Duties
Provide medical coverage of school athletic events, injury clinics, provides appropriate medical record keeping, documents accurately and in a timely manner.
Provide taping, brace and equipment adjustments, immediate injury care and education on prevention of injury / illness to athletes. Communicates well with coaches and parents providing education regarding athletic injury and care.
Participate in staff education and in-service programs, documentation reviews, PI and other similar activities.
Provide education, exercise instruction and application of modalities to patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist or Physician.
May assist with other clinical duties including, but not limited to, physician extender duties, ImPACT testing, pre participation physicals, and assistance with physical therapy clinic duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM
DESIRABLE
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state where work is being performed.
• First Aid/CPR as per NATA requirements
*Must obtain Regular (Non- Temporary) Licensure in the state where work is being performed within 6 months of employment
• Clinical Experience in Sports Medicine facility
• Experience with high school or collegiate athletics
• Master’s Degree in related field
Specialized Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Athletic Trainer assessments, treatment techniques and anticipated outcomes
• Knowledge of Athletic Training regulatory issues
Kind and Length of Experience:
• 1-3 years of experience in Sports Medicine clinical setting and/or experience with school setting
