UC Health is hiring a full-time Cytotechnologist for the pathology department for first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The Cytotechnologist is responsible for evaluating patients' cell samples and is trained to notice subtle changes to accurately detect precancerous, malignant, and infectious conditions. The Cytotechnologist will work closely with a pathologist as well as members of the clinical team.

Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for accessioning, processing, staining and mounting of both gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens as needed.
• Attend specimen collection procedures, such as FNA’s at hospital sites, making cellular preparations during the procedure, performing rapid staining and evaluating the cellular preparation under the microscope for cellular adequacy.
• Responsible for maintaining the FNA cart, keeping it stocked and informing necessary personnel when more supplies are needed. Maintains quality control documentation of slide stain and technical quality.
• Maintains equipment and instruments in good operating condition, recognizing any malfunctions and troubleshooting or communicating problems to the cytology manager or other personnel responsible for equipment.
• Perform customer service as necessary.
• Adheres to laboratory’s quality control policies and documents assurance standards are met.
• Participate in continuing education programs and maintains a record of continuing education participation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Must be registered ASCP Cytotechnologist or eligible to take the ASCP Cytotechnologist Board of Registry Exam. A minimum of three years of prior cytology experience preferred.
