Job Description
Duties
The Supervisory Medical Support Assistant plans and directs the inpatient Medical Support Assistant program for the medical center and have full supervisory responsibility.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Working on units to ensure coverage as directed by their manager.
* Assigning and evaluating the work of subordinate staff.
* Orienting and providing on the job training for new or current medical support assistants.
* Resolving complex problems to ensure patient services are met.
* Evaluating new products, equipment, and systems in order to make recommendations for improved operations.
* Identifying educational or training needs.
* Making final decisions on selections.
* Evaluating performance, taking disciplinary action when necessary.
* Full administrative and professional responsibility for planning and directing the medical support assistant activities.
* Extracting and analyzing data to provide reports in support of performance measures to senior management.
