Job Duties
The Medical Director oversees all medical services provided by the facility, ensures high-quality treatment for all patients, and assists the Facility Director in supporting the hospital's mission. The Medical Director has clinical responsibilities, and will be required to carry an active caseload, and will direct a multidisciplinary treatment team consisting of a Psychologist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Social Worker, Registered Nurse, Substance Abuse Counselor, Milieu Counselors, and Teachers, providing treatment for children and adolescents with complex and severe mental illnesses. Expertise in psychiatric evaluation and treatment, including psychopharmacology is essential.

Our mission is to provide high quality acute psychiatric evaluation, crisis stabilization, and intensive short-term treatment that empowers children and their families to make developmentally appropriate choices and that strengthens children’s hope, resilience and self-esteem.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Virginia Medical License.
Board Certified / Eligible for Board Certification in Children and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Ability to work effectively with children and families in distress.
Ability to lead effectively within the framework of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Additional Considerations
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
