How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
Full Time- Hospice Care. Roanoke Region. Serves as a member of the Hospice team.  Evaluates spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families.  Provides spiritual care and support to clients and staff.  (Clients include patients and their caregivers).  Collaborates with other local spiritual care providers as appropriate.  Assess clients for spiritual care needs and provides non-denominational, non-judgmental, spiritual services.  Works with bereavement team to follow up with bereaved clients.  Serves as resource to staff.
Provides a ministry of spiritual care and emotional support to patients of all ages, family members and staff.
• Provides pastoral care to patients of all ages and members of their families.  Adjusts the length, type and purpose of Pastoral Care to fit the needs to the situation.
• Provides timely response and appropriate intervention in emergency situations to patients, families and staff (i.e. Code Blue, Code Green, Trauma alerts).
• Consults with members of the hospital staff regarding patient and family care.  Seeks and provides pertinent information to/from other disciplines regarding the care/treatment of the patient.
• Serves as pastoral counselor on request to members of the hospital staff.
• Mentors and evaluates work of volunteers and interns who have been assigned to the staff chaplain’s area of clinical responsibility.
• Participates in in-services, clinical educational opportunities, case review sessions and staff meetings.
• Helps orient, train and evaluate new staff members and interns of the department.
• Takes call for the department as needed.
What We Require:
Education: Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university required.  Master's degree from an accredited seminary or equivalent 12 years of expeirence required.  Ordination or denominational endorsement as a minister of that denomination required. Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education from an accredited training center Board Certified or eligible required.
Experience: Prior experience in providing pastoral care services in an acute care facility preferred.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Must have valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and personal vehicle for making home visits/funeral visits
