The City of Martinsville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is seeking an individual to fill the position of Administrative Assistant II. This individual will perform complex legal, clerical and administrative work while supervising a staff of three (3) full-time employees. The qualified individual should have an understanding of the judicial process and legal procedures and practices; knowledge of the criminal justice system is required. This individual must be able to communicate effectively and interact with courts and counsel while exercising good judgment and discretion. Applicants must possess an associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalent from two (2) year college or technical school; or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a legal setting such as a law office, governmental agency, court system or other comparable setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
