Health Economics Director-Value Based Care
Location: This role will work a hybrid model (remote and office) and ideal candidate will reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute of an Elevance Health PulsePoint location.
The Health Economics Director will direct financial analytics related to program development and execution in the value-based and alternative payment model space. This position will provide consultation and analytic support to executive management on cost of care issues and opportunities related to programs associated with Carelon and other strategic partners.
How you will make an impact:
- Prepares healthcare cost analysis to identify new, innovative strategies to control costs and promote high quality care.
- Performs complex value-based modeling exercises.
- Communicates strategies both internally and externally to manage provider expectations.
- Prepares negotiation prep analysis to support development of negotiation strategy.
- Evaluates cost impact of various negotiation proposals.
- Provides analytic support during complex provider negotiations.
- Provides day to day negotiation support for programs run by Carelon
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Minimum requirements:
- Requires a BA/BS degree in Business or related field; 5+ years experience in broad-based analytical, managed care payor or provider environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Experience in statistical analysis strongly preferred.
- Actuarial background, or masters preferred.
- Experience with both commercial and government program payment models is preferred.
- 3+ years experience providing analytical support on Government Programs (Medicare/Medicaid)
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $132,240 to $249,934.
