Full job description
Computer Technician
Duties:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software systems and networks
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone or in-person at their business or home
- Install and configure VOIP phones and give instruction on operation
- Assist with the installation and configuration of operating systems (Windows, Mac OS)
- Collaborate with other IT team members to ensure smooth operation of office
- Document all technical procedures and solutions in a clear and concise manner
- Monitor and maintain computer systems to ensure optimal performance
- Respond to service requests in a timely manner
- Assist with computer networking tasks such as setting up VPN connections
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and peripherals
- Proficient in troubleshooting common software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Mac OS)
- Solid understanding of computer networking concepts (both wired and wireless)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
Note: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a plus.
